SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the various types of Peltier plates, specifically the TEC series, including TEC1-12710, TEC1-12706, and TEC1-12705. The key differences among these models lie in their specifications, such as maximum current (Imax) and cooling capacity. The numerical codes represent specific characteristics of the plates, with the final digits indicating the maximum current rating and the letters denoting special options or features. Understanding these codes is essential for selecting the appropriate Peltier plate for specific project requirements.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of thermoelectric cooling principles
  • Familiarity with Peltier plate specifications
  • Knowledge of current ratings and their implications
  • Basic experience with electronic components and their applications
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specifications of different Peltier plate models, focusing on TEC series
  • Learn about thermoelectric module applications in cooling systems
  • Explore the impact of maximum current ratings on Peltier plate performance
  • Investigate the significance of special options in Peltier plate selection
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, hobbyists, and researchers involved in thermal management projects, particularly those utilizing thermoelectric cooling solutions.

I need to get a Peltier tile/plate for one of my projects and I got really confused when deciding between them based on No. codes on it, as they're all similar in dimension.

Like for example, I was looking for 4cmx4cm Peltier plate, and I found myself getting confused when there were choices like TEC1-12710, TEC1-12706, TEC1-12705, and I'm not sure if there's even more.

So what are their differences and what do those No. codes even represent?

Browsing an on-line catalogue, it appears that the final decimals code Imax, and the special options are in the alphas following.

Doug, what do you mean by special options...? o.O?
