AI Thread Summary
A user inquired about a bump on their back, which a dermatologist suspects is a benign dermatofibroma. There is concern about the certainty of the diagnosis, particularly regarding the implications of untreated tumors. It is clarified that benign tumors are not cancerous, and the presence of the bump for less than a year suggests it is not life-threatening. The discussion emphasizes the importance of consulting a doctor for accurate information and encourages seeking a second opinion if there are doubts about a diagnosis.

Can someone please answer this question, I have this bump on my back and the dermatologist
says she thinks it's a benign dermatofibroma but I don't think she is 100% sure..

So if you say an untreated tumor kills you in a month.. then I'm good cause I've had this here for a little less than a year.

Benign means it is not cancerous. If you need information, you need to speak to a doctor.

Furthermore, get a second opinion if you think your doctor is wrong. It can't hurt.

The study provides critical new insights into the African Humid Period, a time between 14,500 and 5,000 years ago when the Sahara desert was a green savanna, rich in water bodies that facilitated human habitation and the spread of pastoralism. Later aridification turned this region into the world's largest desert. Due to the extreme aridity of the region today, DNA preservation is poor, making this pioneering ancient DNA study all the more significant. Genomic analyses reveal that the...
