AI Thread Summary
To prepare for high-level physics contests in Canada like the Sir Isaac Newton and the Canadian Association of Physics High School Prize exam, focus on building a strong foundation in physics concepts and problem-solving skills. Recommended resources include specialized textbooks that cover advanced topics and problem sets, as well as online platforms that offer practice exams and tutorials. Engaging with physics communities and forums can provide additional insights and support. Regular practice with past contest papers is crucial for familiarizing oneself with the exam format and types of questions. Seeking mentorship or joining study groups can also enhance preparation and provide motivation.

I'm interested in participating in some high level physics contests in Canada, such as the Sir Isaac Newton (Waterloo) and Canadian Association of Physics High School Prize exam.

I don’t have much experience with contests and stuff, so could you please guide me on to the best way to prepare for them? Are there any books/websites that are particularly useful for preparing for physics contests?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
