AI Thread Summary
A user warns others against sending money or personal photos to a UK-based site after experiencing a loss of £50 and a photo of their deceased mother without receiving a reading or any items back. The discussion reveals skepticism about the legitimacy of the site, with participants questioning the wisdom of sending such personal items to self-proclaimed mind readers. Many express disbelief that anyone would engage in this behavior, suggesting it may be a misunderstanding of the forum's purpose, which is focused on physics rather than psychic phenomena. The conversation also touches on the possibility that the original post could be an attempt to promote the website in question. Overall, the thread emphasizes caution regarding online interactions with unverified services.

What are you talking about?

Seems like sending them 50 pounds and a picture of your mum was a tipoff. If they could really pull off "M2M" they'd contact you telepathically, reading a memory of her and your bank account number at the same time...

I don't think that anyone around here would think to do that.

I don't believe the kind of people who frequent PF would be inclined to send pictures of dead mothers or 50 quid to anyone, let alone self-claimed mind readers.

I agree. If you really got "scammed" why not provide a user name??

Sure it was mind-2-mind they do physics readings ect . Well its a lesson learned will not do it again ,All i wanted was to see if they could pick up anythink from my mums photo but now i do not even have the photo and only had a few of them its a shame as you can not trust anyone no more.

I have removed the link to the rip off site. Why provide advertising?

At least now I know where Alkatran got his avatar.

If this really happened why don't you just PM him about it and solve it that way.

You are aware that this is physics forums, not psychic forums, right? Otherwise, I'm not sure why you're telling us about this.

I would have thought if he wasn't saying they ripped him off. Maybe he's just ticked off and complaining everywhere he has a chance.

I agree with Moonbear, from reading his profile, it would appear he thought this was "psychics forums". It's happened before.
