Is Quantum Suicide a Viable Concept in Real Science?

I saw a wiki article describing some experiments involving this, but I am just wondering if this is some fake science bs because it said the article needs review. Can someone explain the topic and if it is actually realistic please? Thanks

Oh crap I just thought about it for 3 seconds after posting and thought, I could coincidentally kill off my other selves in other possible worlds that did specific things using this method.
 

Thread 'Schrödinger equation and classical wave equation'

Not an expert in QM. AFAIK, Schrödinger's equation is quite different from the classical wave equation. The former is an equation for the dynamics of the state of a (quantum?) system, the latter is an equation for the dynamics of a (classical) degree of freedom. As a matter of fact, Schrödinger's equation is first order in time derivatives, while the classical wave equation is second order.
