Is There a Minimum Cooling Water Temperature for Specific Systems?

AI Thread Summary
Cooling water temperature is critical for optimal system performance, and there is typically a minimum temperature requirement for specific systems. The exact minimum value depends on the details of the equipment in use, such as chillers. It's recommended to consult the chiller vendor for the minimum allowable cooling tower water temperature. Operating below this minimum can lead to inefficiencies or equipment issues. Understanding these parameters is essential for maintaining system integrity and performance.

Is there any minimum value of cooling water temperature for a particular system?
In our plant cooling water temperature is much below the normal operating range.

Probably, yes. To know what it is, though, you will need to know the details of the system/equipment. I assume the cooling towers are for chillers? The chiller vendor should be able to tell you the minimum allowable tower water temperature.
