Programs Is There a PhD Program in Theoretical Brain Physics?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the intersection of theoretical physics and neuroscience, specifically the concept of "theoretical human brain physics." The original poster, with a background in theoretical physics focused on quantum mechanics, seeks information on pursuing a PhD in this emerging field. Participants suggest exploring existing literature, referencing a previous post that listed influential theoretical neuroscience papers as a valuable resource for foundational knowledge. The conversation emphasizes the need for interdisciplinary research that combines physics and neuroscience to better understand brain function.

Hi everyone!

I graduated with a major in theoretical physics (mathematical aspects of quantum mechanics) and I wonder if there's some sort of "theoretical human brain physics" research field, and where in the world would be possible to pursue a phd degree in that field. Also, any bibliographical advice is more than welcome.

Thank you!

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
