Who organises my accommodation?
We (the meeting organisers) do, as long as you provide us with the necessary information in your profile (travel details, arrival and departure dates, etc.). You will receive an email asking for the respective information, and you will have about two weeks to provide it. Once we have booked your accommodation, you will receive a confirmation, which you may need in order to apply for a visa or to enter the country.
The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting is an annual gathering of Nobel Laureates in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, and economics. It was established in 1951 and takes place in Lindau, Germany.
Participants are selected through a rigorous application process, which includes recommendations from university professors and a review of the applicant's research and academic achievements. Only the most promising young scientists are invited to attend.
The main purpose of the meeting is to foster dialogue and exchange between Nobel Laureates and the next generation of leading scientists. It also serves as a platform for networking, career development, and inspiration for young researchers.
During the week-long meeting, Nobel Laureates give lectures, participate in panel discussions, and engage in informal discussions with the young scientists. There are also various social and cultural events, as well as opportunities for participants to present their own research.
The meeting is open to young scientists from all over the world who are pursuing a career in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, and economics. Approximately 600 attendees are selected each year, representing around 80 different countries.
