Hey guys, I was wondering how a magneto works exactly?

I have been reading a lot, but I do not understand why the voltage spikes when the magnetic field collapses. Any help?

The voltage spikes when The B field collapses because we have a big change in magnetic flux. Faradays law. A time varying B field induces an E field.
