Hello,

I'm looking for a book that explains the subject of material science so that I can apply that knowledge to mechanical engineering. I was wondering if Materials Science and Engineering: An Introduction by Callister might be a good choice. Could that book help me in mechanical engineering? Or should I consider another book such as Materials: Engineering, Science, Processing and Design by Ashby?

Thank you!

I used and liked the 3rd edition of Callister, but since it is on the 10th, I am no longer sure if that judgment still holds today.
