Consider the bullet of an M-24 rifle. The explosion that takes place behind the bullet, accelerates it to approximately the speed of sound when it leaves the rifle. But I guess that the bullet accelerates for almost the entire length of the rifle, due to the expanding gases.
My question can someone estimate the maximum the acceleration of the bullet? What do you think the graph of acceleration look like till the bullet leaves the rifle?
