Moon pull on the earth with one-sixth the force that the earth exerts

AI Thread Summary
The moon does not pull on the Earth with one-sixth the force that the Earth exerts on the moon; instead, both bodies exert equal gravitational forces on each other. This is supported by Newton's Third Law, which states that the force exerted by one object on another is equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. The gravitational interaction can be understood through the concept of a single attractive force between two objects. The discussion emphasizes the importance of understanding gravitational forces and their equal nature. Overall, the forces between the Earth and the moon are balanced and reciprocal.

Also keep in mind Newton's Third Law: The force that A exerts on B is always equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the force that B exerts on A.

comparing a flat solar panel of area 2π r² and a hemisphere of the same area, the hemispherical solar panel would only occupy the area π r² of while the flat panel would occupy an entire 2π r² of land. wouldn't the hemispherical version have the same area of panel exposed to the sun, occupy less land space and can therefore increase the number of panels one land can have fitted? this would increase the power output proportionally as well. when I searched it up I wasn't satisfied with...
