AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on the naming conventions for circular standing waves in geometry, particularly in relation to the Bohr and De Broglie models. Participants are curious if there is a specific term used for these waves and if they follow a naming pattern similar to geometric shapes, such as "tri-" for triangles. The conversation also references spherical harmonics as a potential parallel for naming. Overall, the thread seeks clarity on the terminology associated with circular standing waves in geometric contexts. The inquiry highlights a gap in established nomenclature within geometry for these specific waveforms.

Okay, I know this is not that big of deal, but it has been bugging.

I would like to know if geometry has given a name to circular standing waves. You know Bohr / De Broglie model. And whether they extend to name with prefixs, like the triangle shaped on being tri-...S
