AI Thread Summary
The nearest point on Mars to Earth is the side of Mars visible through a telescope, while the farthest point is the opposite side of the planet. Some participants noted that pieces of Mars ejected by meteor collisions and landing on Earth could also be considered the nearest parts. The discussion highlights that Mars' rotation causes the closest and farthest points to change over time. The conversation suggests a playful tone, with some questioning whether the inquiry is a trick question. Overall, the dialogue emphasizes the dynamic nature of Mars' positioning relative to Earth.

The other side.

Is this a trick question? If it is, I'll answer differently.

The pieces of Mars that were blasted into space by a meteor collision and eventually landed on the earth.

The meteoric pieces of Mars that were blasted into space and went far away.

Mars is rotating so the answer keeps changing.

comparing a flat solar panel of area 2π r² and a hemisphere of the same area, the hemispherical solar panel would only occupy the area π r² of while the flat panel would occupy an entire 2π r² of land. wouldn't the hemispherical version have the same area of panel exposed to the sun, occupy less land space and can therefore increase the number of panels one land can have fitted? this would increase the power output proportionally as well. when I searched it up I wasn't satisfied with...
