AI Thread Summary
Finding detailed wind speed data on a small time scale, particularly in seconds, is challenging and often requires personal measurement. A suggested resource is the Unisys weather site, which offers surface data, but it may not meet the specific needs for instantaneous readings. The original poster expressed frustration over the lack of available data, noting that existing graphs typically provide minute averages rather than real-time measurements. Accurate wind data collection over short periods is both difficult and costly. Overall, those seeking precise wind speed information may need to consider gathering the data themselves.

I've been searching the internet far and wide but cannot seem to the wind speed information I want. I need a graph or table of wind speed vs. time, where the time scale is very small, on the order of seconds. I did find one graph here; http://www.srh.noaa.gov/bmx/significant_events/research/February_22_1998/evergreen.php to give you an idea of what it is I'm looking for, but that just isn't enough I'm afraid.

Anybody happen to know where I could find more of that?

Thanks a lot,
Dan

http://weather.unisys.com/surface/index.html" is probably your best bet and is as good as your going to get. Getting even adequate wind data over periods of hours let alone seconds is a very difficult and expensive ordeal. If you want reliable data over a period of seconds your probably going to have to measure it yourself.

EDIT: This is my 666th post...creepy.

Haha, creepy indeed.

But re-reading that link I posted, I don't even thinK THAT contains the data I need! I mis-read... the data that has is 1 minute average wind speeds, not instantaneous wind speeds FOR 1 minute. Ugh.

My water meter is submerged under water for about 95% of the year. Today I took a photograph of the inside of my water meter box because today is one of the rare days that my water meter is not submerged in water. Here is the photograph that I took of my water meter with the cover on: Here is a photograph I took of my water meter with the cover off: I edited the photograph to draw a red circle around a knob on my water meter. Is that knob that I drew a red circle around my meter...
Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
