AI Thread Summary
A pair of jeans priced at $49.95 is on a 20% off sale, which calculates to a discount of $9.99. The calculation involves multiplying the sale price by 20%, resulting in a final price of $39.96 after the discount. The discussion highlights the importance of understanding percentage calculations in retail pricing. It also notes that a 20% discount does not imply the jeans cost 20% of the original price. Accurate calculations are essential for determining sale prices effectively.
