Postgraduate studies and previous studies

AI Thread Summary
In Australia, when applying for postgraduate studies in the US, it is essential to submit academic transcripts from all universities attended, including those where credit was received for courses. Even if the previous university's courses are marked as 'exempted' and do not show grades, the transcript from that institution will likely still be required as part of the application process. This ensures that all academic history is transparent and considered by the admissions committee.

Just a quick question. I'm in Australia and am currently studying Electrical Engineering. Prior to the university I am at now, I did a year at another university, and once I was accepted into the one that I am at now, I applied to receive credit/advanced standing for 4 subjects that I did at the first university. These were approved and appear on my academic transcript as being 'exempted', however the grades are not listed.

I would like to pursue postgraduate studies in the US, hopefully, so when and if the time comes, when I submit my application, will I also have to submit the academic transcript that shows my grades for the 4 subjects I did at the first university?

Probably. The usual requirement is for transcripts from everywhere you have attended.

^^Thanks.

I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
