AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on designing a lag compensator using Ogata's method, highlighting difficulties in determining the value of Kv, which is set at 5 1/sec without clear explanation. Participants express confusion over the rationale behind using this specific Kv value and the requirement of at least 40 degrees. The thread seeks guidance on calculating K using limits and how to apply this method to an open-loop transfer function. The original poster requests assistance, indicating a lack of support from the community. Clarification on these points is essential for successful project completion.

Hello Community,

for a School Projekt I must design a lag compensator according to Ogata. Unfortenutely I have some Problems. At first I must find a Value for Kv. I don't know why he use for Kv 5 1/sec in this example. He don't explain why he use 5 and why he use at least 40 degrees.

In the next step he calculate K with lim in this example.

How can i Use this Method for my open-loop transfer function and how can I determine that?
