AI Thread Summary
NASA's Face in Space program allows individuals to send their photos into outer space on upcoming shuttle missions, likely using a flash drive for digital images. Participants can submit their pictures through the program's website. While some find the initiative intriguing, there are doubts about its potential to significantly boost public interest in the space program. The discussion also touches on the program's "participation maps," which provide insights into submissions. Overall, the program offers a unique opportunity for personal involvement in space exploration.

NASA has some kind of program thing where they will send a picture of you into outer space on the next space shuttle mission. They are probably just going to take a flash drive up with them with digital photos on it but it's still a tiny bit cool I think.

Let's take a step back - it is trivial to see the sun in radio. An old analog TV, a set of "rabbit ears" antenna, and you're good to go. Point the antenna at the sun (i.e. the ears are perpendicular to it) and there is...
