AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on improving the post history feature to display only the titles of posts instead of including all replies, making it easier for users to navigate their contributions. Users express a desire for a clearer distinction between original questions and responses in their post history. While options exist to find threads started by a user through their profile or advanced search, participants agree that these features should be more accessible. The suggestion aligns with user experience improvements seen in platforms like Stack Exchange. Enhancing the post history feature could significantly streamline user interactions on the forum.

Would it be possible to see only the 'title' posts within the posting history tab instead of all the replies within a post as well?

I feel it would be easier to go back to ones posts that way. As of know the post history list is filled by the users replies within their own posts. Also distinguishing between posts where the user asks the question from the ones where the user responds would also be great. (Something more along the lines of Stack Exchange?).

Thank you!

If you want to find all threads started by a specific user, that option is available in the Find dropdown on that user's profile page (and I agree that is a UX irritation that that option is not available under the "postings" button, as with the old software).

The advanced search dialog also has a "Display results as threads" box at the very bottom of the dialog.

You can also find threads started by you by clicking Forums->Find Threads ->Your Threads (https://www.physicsforums.com/find-threads/started).

However, I agree that it would be more convenient if this page were also accessible from a user's profile page.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
This came up in my job today (UXP). Never thought to raise it here on PF till now. Hyperlinks really should be underlined at all times. PF only underlines them when they are rolled over. Colour alone (especially dark blue/purple) makes it difficult to spot a hyperlink in a large block of text (or even a small one). Not everyone can see perfectly. Even if they don't suffer from colour deficiency, not everyone has the visual acuity to distinguish two very close shades of text. Hover actions...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
