Take away the pain, inside my soul
And I'm afraid, so all alone
Takeaway the pain, that's burning in my soul
Cause I'm afraid that I'll be all alone
So just hold me...

When i think of heaven

I think of flying down into a sea of
pens and feathers and all other
instruments of faith and sex and God
in the belly of a black winged bird
Don't try to feed me
I've been here before and i deserve a little more

aww you guys suck. It was Counting Crows - Rain King

Anyway, this is a little easier seeing as it was recent.

"When I was wandering in the desert,
And was searching for the truth.
I heard a choir of angels calling out my name.
I had the feeling that my life
Would never be the same again
I turn my face towards the barren sun."

  • #164
And I know of the pain that you feel, the same as me
And I dream of the rain as it falls upon the leaves
And the cracks is our lives
Like the cracks upon the ground
They are sealed and now are washed away...

It was Iron Maiden - Rainmaker
------

Guess this one:

I declare I don't care no more
I'm burning up and out and growing BORED
In my smoked out BORING room
My hair is shagging in my eyes
Dragging my feet to hit the street tonight
To drive along these **** town lights

  • #165
"I'm not growing up,
I'm just burning out
And i stepped in line
to walk amonst the DEAD"

Greenday - Burnout

Okey dokey let's try one a lil harder

"We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time
And yet I fight
And yet I fight
This battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home"

  • #166
jimmy?

  • #167
ok ok, it was Alice in Chains - Nutshell.

Lets try again.

"Gold Coast slaveship bound for cotton fields
Sold in a market down in New Orleans
Scarred old slaver know he's doin' alright
Hear him whip the women just around midnight"

sigh...

"Yeah and it's slipping away
Here comes just another day
That's drifting away..."

It's called "Slipping Away", but I didn't know Keith Richards wrote it...

Here's mine, while I still have a chance to post one:

There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
Consuming/confusing
This lack of self-control i fear is never ending
Controlling/i can't seem
To find myself again...

g2g, but I'll be back tomorrow to see if anyone go it.

too easy
Linkin Park - Crawling

here's something from my youth (when men were men, not Napster fearing lusers ...)

Make his fight on the hill in the early day
Constant chill deep inside
Shouting gun, on they run through the endless grey
On the fight, for they are right, yes, by who's to say?

"For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know
Suffered wounds test their pride
Men of five, still alive through the raging glow
Gone insane from the pain that they surely know

For whom the bell tons
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls"

I'm a big Metallica fan...it's "For whom the bell tolls".

This song is stuck in my head right now, so I can't really think of any others...

"Drowning deep in my sea of loathing
Broken, your servant, I kneel"

That should be enough, I think. But, I'll add more if you don't get it.

  • #183
...
"it seems what's left of my human side
is slowly changing in me"...

Come on people.

  • #184
The band is 'Disturbed' but i don't know the song.

  • #185
Well, it's "Down With the Sickness", and you're right, jimmy, it was Disturbed.

Should I let him have the next one, Andy?

  • #186

Alright...

"How the hell'd we wind up like this?
And why weren't we able
To see the signs that we missed
And try to turn the tables..."

How you remind me, Nickleback.

In the beginning god made the sea,
but on the seventh day he made me,
he was trying to rest y'all when he heard the sound,
sound like a guitar-cold getting down

Actually, it's "Someday", by Nickelback...it doesn't matter.

  • #191
They sound so alike that its easily confused, i have only ever heard those songs on the radio and kerrang tv anyway.

  • #192
Well, I think time's up for guessing your song, Andy. What was it?

  • #193
'My name is Prince' and i am Funky!

"I can turn on anyone
Just like I've turned on you
I've got a tongue like a razor
A sweet switchblade knife
And I can do you favors
But then you'll do whatever I like"

Enjoy, someone should get this last one.

"Here I am
And you’re a Rocket Queen
I might be a little young
But Honey I ain’t naive
Here I am
And you’re a Rocket Queen oh yeah
I might be too much
But honey you’re a bit obscene"

Guns N Roses - Rocket Queen

my go

"Joan was quizzical, studied pataphysical
Science in the home
Late nights all alone with a test-tube
Ohh-oh-oh-oh..."

  • #195

May I?

Maxwell Edison, majoring in medicine
Calls her on the phone
"Can I take you out to the pictures
Jo-oh-oh-oan..."

But as she's getting ready to go
A knock comes on the door...
Bang bang Maxwell's silver hammer
Came down upon her head
Bang bang Maxwell's silver hammer
Made sure that she was dead!

Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Beatles

Everyone's favorite in the morbid lyrics/bubbly melody category!

OK, try this one out.

Overhead the albatross
Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
The echoes of a distant time
Come willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine

  • #198
Keep ur shirt on jimmyp, you know i don't like the beatles. and if the 3 days where up u should have posted new lyrics.

This is a real guess for the next one but i have a little voice in my head saying 'Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner' by Iron Maiden. I don't often listen to these voices mind you.

"Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can
And no one calls us to the land
And no one crosses there alive
And no one speaks
And no one tries
And no one flies around the sun"

Its not Iron Maiden, it is "Echoes" by Pink Floyd

Anyway. It's now my go again

"Know it sounds funny
But I just can’t stand the pain
Girl I’m leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl
You know I’ve done all I can
You see I begged, stole
And I borrowed"

Easy (that's the song's name) - Faith no More (or some other band I understood from a friend it's not originally theirs)

Anyway I was close ehough so...

All this time has whittled away
Like so many days in one
Back and forth the leaders sway
Backing it up with guns
Superpowers flex their wings
Hold the world on puppet strings
Egos will feed
While citizens bleed
That's always the way it goes
