In summary, the work done by gravity on the load is zero since the load is moving horizontally while the gravitational force is vertical, resulting in no work being done.

A man pushes a heavy load across a horizontal floor. What is the work done by gravity on the load?
a. The work depends on the weight of the load.
b. The work done by gravity is negative.
c. The work done by gravity is zero.
d. The work done by gravity is positive.

Why is it 0? I gave you a clue on the other thread you started.

What is gravity's effect on a heavy load?

Gravity is the force that pulls objects towards the center of the Earth. When a heavy load is placed on the ground, gravity acts on it, creating a downward force that pushes the load towards the Earth's surface.

How does gravity affect the weight of a heavy load?

The weight of an object is determined by its mass and the force of gravity acting on it. Therefore, when a heavy load is placed on the ground, the force of gravity increases its weight, making it harder to lift or move.

Why does a heavy load fall to the ground when dropped?

When a heavy load is dropped, the force of gravity acts on it, pulling it towards the Earth. As the load falls, the force of gravity remains constant, causing it to accelerate towards the ground until it reaches the Earth's surface.

Can gravity be used to lift a heavy load?

Yes, gravity can be used to lift a heavy load through the use of pulleys and other mechanical devices. These devices allow for the force of gravity to be redirected, making it easier to lift heavy objects.

How does gravity's work on a heavy load affect structures?

Gravity's work on a heavy load can put stress on structures such as buildings and bridges. Engineers must take into account the weight of the load and the force of gravity when designing these structures to ensure they can withstand the weight without collapsing.
