Source for t and pi networks in control systems

In summary, a source in a t and pi network in control systems provides the input signal and can be either DC or AC. The purpose of a t network is impedance matching and improving frequency response, while a pi network is better suited for higher frequency signals. Both can be used in analog and digital control systems, but their specific components and configurations may differ. The values of components in a t or pi network can be calculated using equations and formulas, with the help of reference materials or experts in control systems.

Hi

I couldn't find any specific reading material for T and PI network based compensation in control systems. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. If you happen to know something about this, please do reply to this thread.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know much on this, but these are usually notch or bandpass filters. So abstractly (ignore circuit topology), how would a notch filter help you in a feedback system? I ask this not knowing the answer, I'm just curious what your application would be.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. T and PI networks are commonly used in control systems as a form of compensation to improve system performance. One good source for understanding these networks is the book "Modern Control Systems" by Richard C. Dorf and Robert H. Bishop. Chapter 7 specifically covers frequency response analysis and design, which includes T and PI network compensators.

Another helpful resource is the article "Control System Compensation Techniques: A Review" by S. K. Singh and D. P. Kothari. It provides a comprehensive overview of different compensation techniques, including T and PI networks, and their applications in control systems.

I hope these resources will be helpful for your research. Good luck!
