AI Thread Summary
A potential bug related to TeX rendering in poll options has been identified, with users experiencing inconsistencies in how TeX graphics appear. Some members report that previously posted TeX is being displayed instead of the intended graphics, and in some cases, the TeX is not rendering at all. The issue may stem from the use of preview images in polls, which can become problematic if those images are overwritten or deleted. Users have shared external websites that allow testing of TeX code, suggesting that this could help mitigate the issues encountered. The discussion highlights the challenges faced with TeX in forum settings and the need for clearer guidelines or fixes.

The tex graphics in that poll aren't even rendering for me. I didn't know tex was allowed in poll options.

It's my fault again. First the blogs now this... I'll stop using tex so much OK? :P

The images used in the poll are preview images, so as these are overwritten or deleted it causes this issue, possibly. I had to battle a similar issue recently.

And it appears we're all seeing TeX we've posted before.
No wonder I saw that derivative, in the very same way I had typed it in another post!

There are web sites out there that let you try out your code. Here are a couple suggested by members here:

http://at.org/~cola/tex2img/index.php

http://rogercortesi.com/eqn/index.php
