The Combination Of Philosophy And Quantum Physics

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the relationship between Panpsychism and quantum physics, exploring whether Panpsychism can be reconciled with quantum principles and what, if any, quantum physics concepts might contradict it. The conversation is intended to be exploratory and philosophical in nature.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Debate/contested, Conceptual clarification

Main Points Raised

  • One participant questions if there is any evidence that Panpsychism may be relevant in the quantum realm.
  • Another participant asserts that there is no evidence for Panpsychism in quantum physics but acknowledges the difficulty in defining what could be considered evidence for it.
  • A further participant expresses a desire for examples of evidence supporting Panpsychism, indicating a lack of clarity on the topic.
  • One participant states that discussing which quantum principles might violate Panpsychism is outside the scope of the forum, emphasizing the distinction between philosophy and physics.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not reach a consensus on the relationship between Panpsychism and quantum physics, with some expressing skepticism about evidence while others seek clarification and examples. The discussion remains unresolved.

Contextual Notes

The discussion highlights limitations in defining evidence for philosophical concepts within a scientific framework and the challenges of integrating philosophical ideologies with physical theories.

TL;DR
Does Panpsynchism hold up to the test of quantum physics?
Is there any evidence that Panpsychism may hold its own in the quantum world? What quantum physics principals violate the ideology of Panpsychism? This is meant to be fun. I am curious what other people think.

No.
But then again, it’s hard to imagine anything that could be interpreted as evidence... maybe if you could suggest the sorts of things that you might consider evidence in support of panpsychism?

I was hoping that would be decided by the reader. Your question is a great question. I don't have an example. I am looking for examples. You don't know what you don't know. I was hoping someone smarter than I am would be able to think of some.

Such a question is out of scope for this forum. Panpsychism is philosophy, not physics.
