Troubleshooting Minor Issues on PF Website

AI Thread Summary
Three minor issues have been identified on the PF website: a hashed line-box appears when hovering over navigation tabs, the new latex color is an off-white instead of the previous grey, and a similar line-box issue occurs when hovering over the PF logo. The transparency problems with the latex are acknowledged, while the line-box issue seems to be specific to Internet Explorer, as it does not occur in Firefox. A suggestion is made that this could be related to a flash control that needs activation in IE. Overall, these issues require further investigation to enhance user experience on the site.

3 minor issues I have noticed on PF.

1.) On the tab with home, user cp, blog, when you put your mouse over it, you see an annoying hashed line-box over the image.

2.) Why is the new latex off colored white? It used to be grey and blend in.

3.) It also does the same thing as 1 when you put the mouse over the PF image at top left.

We're having some transparancy problems with the latex. The line box thing I have no idea, I can't seem to replicate the problem you are seeing.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
