What are some international winter schools for physics and mathematics in 2014?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on seeking recommendations for US and international winter schools or research opportunities in physics or mathematics, specifically between February 1 and March 1, 2014. The inquiry highlights a willingness to travel globally for these courses. Several notable physics programs are mentioned, including the Hebrew University focusing on Quantum Information, the University of Florida's course on Topological Phases of Condensed Matter, Tata Institute's Strings program, ICTP Trieste's Photonics course, Wroclaw's "Simple Models for Complex Systems," and CERN's Strings program. The conversation suggests that narrowing down specific areas of interest could enhance the search for suitable opportunities.

Hi,

Do you have any experience with an US / international winter school or research in physics or mathematics?

Thank you

PS:I would be ready to travel anywhere in the world to get those courses (between 1.02.2014 to 1.03.2014).

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
