It can be identical. There are also slightly modified versions (insulin analoges) which have better uptake and lifetime characteristics.

What are the characteristics of insulin?

Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps regulate the levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood. It plays a crucial role in metabolism and is essential for maintaining normal blood sugar levels.

How is insulin produced?

Insulin is produced by specialized cells in the pancreas called beta cells. These cells respond to changes in blood sugar levels by releasing insulin into the bloodstream.

What is the structure of insulin?

Insulin is a protein hormone composed of two chains, A and B, connected by disulfide bonds. The A chain contains 21 amino acids, while the B chain contains 30 amino acids.

What is the function of insulin?

The main function of insulin is to regulate the levels of glucose in the blood. It allows cells in the body to absorb glucose from the blood and use it for energy or store it for later use.

What factors affect insulin production and function?

Several factors can affect insulin production and function, including genetics, diet, physical activity, and certain medical conditions. In people with diabetes, the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not use it effectively, leading to high blood sugar levels.
