AI Thread Summary
The HP 50g calculator features an icon resembling a dot with two waves on each side, located between the alpha and hourglass indicators, which signifies low battery status. Users have reported difficulty in displaying answers in symbolic form, specifically for square roots of vectors. To resolve this, pressing and holding the RSHIFT key while pressing enter changes the display mode, allowing future entries to show results in symbolic form instead of decimal.

Hello,

I have the HP 50g and I like it. Recently an icon has been light up on top and I don't know what it means. Its a dot with 2 waves on each side. It almost looks like an icon for some sort of IR emission.

Its in between the alpha and the hourglass. I haven't noticed it on before recently. What does it mean?

Oh ****! Thanks alot!

I have the HP 50g. I can not get my answer in sq root ie absolute value of vector whose answer is sq root 10 shows the answer as a decimal. I have tried different mode settings with no luck. How can I get the answer displayed as a surd/irrational
thankyou

Push and hold down the RSHIFT key (the orange one), then press enter. You should see the tilde (~) turn into an equals mark (=). This will make it so that all of your future entries will be displayed in symbolic form.

Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
