AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the milestone of reaching the 100,000th thread on the Physics Forums, with participants expressing curiosity about the honor associated with this achievement. There is speculation about whether the count includes deleted threads, and it is noted that the forum is approaching a million replies, with a total of over 1.2 million posts when including the old version of the forum. Current statistics show 100,109 threads, 932,698 posts, and 38,276 members. Concerns are raised about member engagement, as the average number of threads per member is low, suggesting many members join solely to seek answers without ongoing participation. The latest thread mentioned is related to the Flat Earth Society, highlighting the diverse topics discussed on the platform.

Which one carries the honor at the moment?

One would assume the thread numbered 100,000 but that's obviously only on this PF version and I don't know if it factors in deleted threads or not.

it didn't even get one reply though...

Wow, 38,000 members ??! I am guessing that's a typo .

In case it's not a typo , it would seem members aren't contributing that much these days . The average no. of threads is only about 3 per member.

It isn't a typo my friend, that's taken directly from the board statistics on the front page. Don't forget that some members only sign up to get an answer to their question and never will visit again. Some are also crackpots who will post their verbal diarrhea then dissappear.
