Why is it that no one over the age of fourty can receive the fields metal?

That sucks. I was planning on not trying to get it until I was fourty one. I guess I will have to try to get it earlier. :biggrin: :rolleyes:

The purpose is to give recognition and support to young mathematical researchers having already made important contributions.
