In summary, the Black Swan Theory is a concept developed by Nassim Nicholas Taleb that suggests unpredictable and rare events have a significant impact on science and society. These events, known as "black swans," are often overlooked or dismissed due to their rarity and lack of predictability, but can have a profound influence on our understanding of the world. This theory has had a significant impact on the scientific community, challenging traditional methods of prediction and emphasizing the importance of considering outlier events in research and decision-making. It has also sparked debates and discussions on the limitations of scientific knowledge and the need for adaptability in the face of unforeseen events.

I am fascinated by new perceptions coming from the science world - I am specifically interested in sound and light and healing ( Reset the base line state ) . I have been kicked off of Nassim Talib's personal chat site which I actually think is my badge of honor , because I asked a question that nobody wanted to know about . However , his black swan theory is still fascinating to me . I like math , - hey , I like it all !

Welcome to the PF, Jen. I don't think I want to click into any of the references you mention, though. Please keep in mind that our mission here at the PF is to discuss mainstream science, so some topics are off limits here. But this is a great place to learn, so we hope you take advantage of our learning resources. Enjoy the PF!
