AI Thread Summary
The discussion highlights a perceived lack of widespread concern for environmental issues, suggesting that those who actively care for the planet are in the minority. A significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions is mentioned, specifically a product designed for Toyota that aims to decrease CO2 emissions by approximately 1 million pounds annually for every 100 large trucks. The emphasis is on the importance of individual contributions to environmental sustainability, even if the idea originated from elsewhere.

I recently designed a product that is in use, that Toyota says will reduce the CO2 emitted by about 1 million pounds per year per 100 large trucks. So there's my contribution this year. :-p

[ps, it wasn't my idea but I did design and engineer it. Also, off the top of my head I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but its something like that]

Thread 'The Secrets of Prof. Verschure's Rosetta Stones'

Besides being a favorite song by a favorite band, the thread title is a straightforward play on words. This summer, as a present to myself for being promoted, I purchased a collection of thin sections that I believe comprise the research materials of Prof. Rob Verschure, who at the time was faculty in the Geological Institute in Amsterdam. What changed this...
