In summary, the first picture is of the Bates Motel, the second picture is of a giant mouth, the third is a flag, and the fourth is industrial toxic wastewater being dumped into a public reserviour.

Had a request for another where did I go today quiz.

Same rules as yesterdays. Given the answer to yesterdays this ought to be easy.

Okay. So we've got the sign for a cheap motel, a mutant baked potato, a flattened-out tent and a robot elephant spraying the photographer. Hmmmm...

  • #3
Looks like it says Bates motel, from the Psycho movie.
The second picture looks like a giant mouth to me.
Third maybe a flag.
I can't even make out the 4th. IS that an elephant or just a water pipe?

Is the Bates Motel set on the Universal tour or something like that?
I have no idea what the scale is for that second one. It could be a nugget of some kind, or a galvanized dog turd, or a sarcophagus for the Michelin Man...
The bottom one seems to be some kind of pipe, but I'm not sure if the picture might have been rotated 90º as well as cropped.

The second definitely looks like teeth. The third like a flag. That last one though I have no clue on.

  • #6
Yeah, that looks like Universal Studios, atleast in the first picture. I've never seen the sign myself so I'm not positive.

That second picture looks like a painting of a fat cat lying on its back. I'm going with the Universal vote too. I can't think of anything else that first sign would be other than the Bates Motel.

I've never been to any kind of park like that, so I don't know what's what. Is Universal the one that has a boat ride with crocodiles and pirates and stuff? If so, #2 might be the mouth of one of the animatronic hippos.

I'm starting to think it's part of a rorschach test for us.

My eyes just aren't good enough for that bottom one, and I can't find my magnifying glass. To me, it looks like a pipe coming out of a water buffalo's head while Marvin the Martian sits on top.

All I know for sure is that the old fart is sitting back somewhere laughing his ass off at us. :grumpy:

In that case the first one is still the Bates Motel.
The second one is a series of mushroom clouds as seen from space.
The third one is the shadow of someone sneaking up on Integral.
The fourth one is industrial toxic wastewater being dumped into a public reserviour.

So this is supposed to be a theme park then?
It could be Universal I guess, I haven't been there in a long time. The only gaping mouth I remember was Jaws and those teeth aren't sharp enough for that. The teeth remind me of the teeth from the whale in one of the rides at Disneyland though. I think it's called Story Book Land or something like that.

Agree- first and second are Bates Motel and mushroom clouds, but the clouds look like they're painted. It actually looks like a painting on the street (IIRC the streets are brick), but I don't know.
The third may be Beetlejuice's costume.
I haven't a clue about the fourth.

Hmm...I'm buying the tooth version of the second one rather than clouds. A big molar. It reminds me of the giant hippos with gaping mouths that come out of the water in the Jungle Ride at Disney World, but we already know he's in CA, not FL.

You're right, honestrosewater, that third one could be a costume or clothing...a striped shirt on someone. In addition to Beetlejuice, it could be a referee or prisoner.

I still can't make out much of the last one. Looks like a knight or a spaceman deflecting a stream of water with his upraised hand.

Gads that was easy. Yep we did Universal city Studios.

Reducing this pic to a postable size ruined the resloution of the Bates, but that is where it came from.

The the tooth is that of King Kong, this guy is big, the face is about 2m high.

Nobody even came close one this one.

http://home.comcast.net/~rossgr1/beetlejuice.JPG

The last is a springkler head at the Mexican Flood set. (seen recently in Big Fat Liar)

Tomorrows ought to be interesting, I am not even sure where we are going!

Not until you take the studio tour, do you find out just WHO lived in the back yard of Whoville!

Totally missed the teeth though- they looked like clouds.

Yeah, honestrosewater is the one who first got the Beetlejuice reference. I was just agreeing with her guess.

You must be quite an avid photographer, Integral, just to notice what will make good cropped images for display here.

Naw... just a lousy one. He has to keep going back and taking them again because he didn't get the whole thing first time around.

1. Where was Integral located today?

As a scientist, I do not have access to real-time information about the exact location of the Integral spacecraft. However, Integral is an Earth-orbiting satellite, so it is constantly moving around the Earth as it completes its mission.

2. How far did Integral travel today?

Since Integral is in orbit around Earth, it does not travel a set distance each day. Instead, it moves at a constant speed along its orbital path, which is about 400 kilometers above the Earth's surface. To calculate the distance traveled, we would need to know the specific time and location of Integral at the beginning and end of the day.

3. Did Integral pass over any specific locations today?

Again, as a scientist, I do not have access to real-time information about the exact location of Integral. However, we can use satellite tracking tools or websites to determine if Integral passed over a specific location at a specific time. Keep in mind that the satellite moves quickly and may only be visible from a specific location for a short period of time.

4. What was Integral's mission today?

The Integral spacecraft has multiple scientific instruments on board that are used to study and observe high-energy objects in space, such as black holes and supernovae. Its mission is ongoing and it collects data and images every day to further our understanding of these phenomena.

5. Can I see Integral in the night sky tonight?

Unfortunately, Integral is not visible to the naked eye from Earth. It is a relatively small satellite and is constantly moving, making it difficult to spot in the night sky. However, you can track its location and view simulated images of its orbit using satellite tracking tools or websites.
