Schools Which countries offer affordable options for engineering grad school?

AI Thread Summary
Several countries outside of Canada and the USA are noted for their engineering graduate programs, with varying tuition costs and living expenses. Scandinavian countries offer tuition-free graduate programs, but they also have a high cost of living, which may offset the savings on tuition. The medium of instruction in these programs is often English, making them accessible to international students. The UK and Australia are also mentioned, but their tuition fees can be quite high. The Philippines is brought up as a potential option, but further details on specific schools there are not provided. Overall, the discussion emphasizes the need to balance tuition costs with living expenses when considering graduate school options abroad.

what countries(aside from Canada and USA) have good schools for going to engineering grad school? I'm also looking for a country where the cost of living and tuition of schools is not that pricey. Any ideas? Thanks

This is a little like "how long is a piece of string". Pretty much all developed countries have good schools, and "not that pricey" depends on your budget.

If I'm not mistaken, the Scandinavian countries all have Grad programs that don't cost any tuition... However, the cost of living in those countries is through the roof, but I'm not sure how well those things balance each other out.

Is the medium of instruction english though? I forgot to include that in my question. I have checked the uk and australia but I think the tuition is a littke bit huge for me. I can probably have some money for the 1st year because of coop.but after that I don't know. How about the Philippines? Have any of you heard of schools from there?

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
