SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on designing a wireless video transmission project using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). The user, a second-year Electrical Engineering undergraduate, seeks guidance on the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully implement this project. Key resources mentioned include the book "Analog and Digital Communication" by Lathi, which provides foundational knowledge in communication systems. Participants in the forum emphasize the importance of understanding OFDM principles, signal processing, and practical implementation techniques.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)
  • Basic knowledge of signal processing techniques
  • Familiarity with wireless communication principles
  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB or Simulink
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the fundamentals of OFDM modulation and demodulation techniques
  • Learn about wireless communication standards relevant to video transmission
  • Explore MATLAB for simulating OFDM systems and video transmission
  • Research practical implementations of OFDM in real-world applications
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineering students, communication system designers, and hobbyists interested in wireless video transmission projects using OFDM technology.

Hello everyone,

My aim is to design a project similar to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZ5Bp1Jbm0s&feature=related

However, I only have basic knowledge of signals and system since I'm a 2nd year EE undergrad.
These days, I'm reading Analog and Digital Communication by Lathi just for fun.

Can anyone tell me what will it take for me to design such a project as given in the video? It's basically wireless video transmission using OFDM.

I would really appreciate if anyone can provide a detailed answer of what do I need to know before going for such a project.
