If two skaters are pushing away from each other i know that their momentum will be equal but in opposite directions. However, if they have different masses (i.e. one is 60kg and another is 72kg) will that affect the momentum??
Original question:
Two skaters stand facing...
I looked up work as well and i think i understand now
The actual question is:
In which of the following scenarios is no net work done?
A car accelerates down a hill.
A car travels at constant speed on a flat road.
A car decelerates on a flat road.
A car decelerates as it...
Okay so Newtons First Law states:
An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
However, that doesn't say anything about the work being done on the car simply...
A bullet with a mass of 6.00 g is fired through a 1.25 kg block of wood on a frictionless surface. The initial speed of the bullet is 896 m/s, and the speed of the bullet after it exits the block is 435 m/s. At what speed does the block move after the bullet passes through it?
For this one...
An elevator weighing 2.00 x 105 N is supported by a steel cable. What is the tension in the cable when the elevator is accelerated upward at a rate of 3.00 m/s2? (g = 9.81 m/s2)
for this equation i think i may have found the answer but i am really not sure. I do not know if there is an...
OKay this question is so vague. I need opinions on what it could possibly mean.
What happens when a person blows between two paper cups that are hung by strings 10 cm apart?
Now i am trying to imagine how this would look. Is the string going through both cups like one of those little kid...
Okay let me start over. This question is confuzing me.
If i can figure out what it means than i already know the answer. I am simply looking for a further explanation. Basically the question is
The motion of a ball on an inclined plane is described by the equation DeltaX =...
Is the motion of a ball on an inclined plane mean the ball is going up the inclined plane or down the inclined plane?
The question goes as follows
The motion of a ball on an inclined plane is described by the equation . Which of the following quantities must have a value of zero?
xi...
Great! Thank You so much. If you have a moment I have another question.
A 0.10 kg piece of copper at an initial temperature of 95°C is dropped into 0.20 kg of water contained in a 0.28 kg aluminum calorimeter. The water and calorimeter are initially at 15°C. What is the final temperature of...
