Large Scale Uncertainty Principle
Hi, I was watching Through the Wormhole two weeks ago (I think it was a re-run), and they were talking about the uncertainty principle, and how it was impossible to prove due to the change in momentum of a particle when hit with an observation device, such as light. I think the guy was using...- chrisdapos

Simple Conic I am sure - Overlooking it
A and B tell you the distance from the center of the ellipse to make a point. A tells you how far in the vertical direction (up and down) to move, and B tells horizontal direction to move (left and right). I don't understand this however because there are no A and B, unless both are 1. I don't...- chrisdapos

Simple Centripetal Force Question
The question reads exactly, if the radius were tripled, what would happen to the centripetal force? The preceeding question is describe the relationship between Centripetal Force and: v, v^2, T and M. I don't think the preceeding question holds any context though. Thank you for your help!- chrisdapos

Simple Centripetal Force Question
Hello, I know that there are two possible formulas to solve for radius. You can use (mv^2)/r ,or, (m4pir^2)/T^2. Now, the question is asking when the radius is trippled, the centripetal force is...? Using the first equation, I come out with 1/3. Using the second equation, I come out with 9...- chrisdapos

Understanding Derivatives: Finding the Derivative of y=2x^2-5
Hello, today my teacher presented us with the concept of derivatives. I was okay in class, but when I got home, I was completely lost. Using the definition (f(x+h) - f(x))/h, we have to fine the derivative of y=2x^2 - 5. I know the answer is 4x from the back of the book, but I can't understand...- chrisdapos

Help with Kinetic/Potential Energy
The percent errors work out if I do KE/PE times 100, and they make sense. I don't know why my teacher had as calculate KE from exit velocity either, because that is a new system...it doesn't really matter tho, thanks for all of your help! The initial question was What is the percent PE to KE...- chrisdapos
