AI Thread Summary
Building a motorized longboard capable of 20-30 mph is feasible, with a preference for electric motors due to their cleaner operation and ease of use. Electric motors can achieve high speeds, but the choice of motor and battery capacity is crucial for performance. Gas motors offer more power but come with drawbacks like weight and emissions. Suggestions include repurposing parts from old jet skis for added speed and control, such as a hand throttle. Overall, both electric and gas options have their pros and cons, and careful planning is essential for achieving desired speeds.

After seeing some people with these motorized skateboards i kind of wanted to try and make one. Does anyone know the best types of motors electric/gas? I would prefer an electric one but I am not sure if i could get it too fast with an electric. Well first off what are the advantages of electric over gas, and vice versa. Secondly does anyone know how to make either a strong electric or gas motor? is it possible to get this board up too 20-30mph?

Take an old jetski apart ;-) Mount it on the bottom and build a hand, trigger throttle.

Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...

My water meter is submerged under water for about 95% of the year. Today I took a photograph of the inside of my water meter box because today is one of the rare days that my water meter is not submerged in water. Here is the photograph that I took of my water meter with the cover on: Here is a photograph I took of my water meter with the cover off: I edited the photograph to draw a red circle around a knob on my water meter. Is that knob that I drew a red circle around my meter...
