Let's Talk Big Bang and the Start of Our Universe! (Help Needed: My English is Basic, So Let's Make This Fun!)"Hello everyone!
I'm from Mongolia and super excited to chat with anyone who loves learning about the Big Bang and how our universe began. But honestly, my English is not perfect – it's a little bit broken sometimes.
So, please be patient if I make mistakes, and let's help each other out!

MentorHi Greg,
I've been checking those threads nearly every day for years.
Do you think I should check more often?
JediHi @Greg Bernhardt
I think there is a typo in the Newcomer announcement. The other polls say they close on Jan 6th, but this one states Jan 3.
Here's the link - https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/new-member-award.1058488/Science AdvisorHomework Helper2024 AwardHi Greg,
when I looked at the homework help forum today before logging in, it invited me to "recieve" help on homework questions. Could someone correct that spelling, as it might compromise our rep as expert scholars, or maybe confirm our rep as science geeks ?
In fact I am puzzled how such a misspelling could occur since when I tried to write this message, the spellchecker changed my misspelling twice to the correct one until I managed to preserve it.
thanks,
roy (mathwonk)Sorry I just singed up today and can't help you with the form. I also can't help you with your first question as I am a retired aerospace test engineer with a BS degree in physics.Hello Greg. I looked at this unanswered post on that Google Sheets list. It did not ask for an answer, and was just posting a proof. I suggest adding a column "Answer not needed" to the Google Sheets doc that we can mark if we find the post does not request or require an answer, to avoid multiple people looking at those posts.
Greg BernhardtGood idea! That's a refreshing new avatar!Hi Greg,
I composed and sent an email via Physics Forums Comments to admin on July 3, 2021 asking about posting a few of my web pages containing solutions to undergraduate physics textbooks no longer used for associated courses. Please reply if you received the email.
Thanks,
chrisk
Greg BernhardtHi chrisk, I'll take this to the mentor group to discuss, thanks!OHi Greg, you ask me to support the site. After I upgraded to gold member one keep deleteing my post without reasonable reasons. Is this a internet cheatting site or some admin's account be hacked?
Best wishes!
DaveC426913Hi there, onexuan. Did you get a message (perhaps in your Inbox) telling you why certain posts of yours were deleted. There is always a reason, and it is usually because of content that is not appropriate for the board, though I can't be sure. You may want to review the site rules that you agreed to when you signed up.Ffresh_42It really depends on the case. E.g. we offer tutorials and homework help by people who are or have been professors or teachers without extra costs. The only requirement is that the students show us where they failed, where they reached a dead end. This is necessary to provide high quality help, and it also makes sure that we are not abused by lazy students who want their homework to be done by somebody else. Why do you send me emails to come to the site if you will not give me permission to post? When people seem to know the answers and do not want to give them for homework reasons that is one thing but a question that even people who so plainly know what is going on do not understand how to answer a problem there's really no sense in my being here if I cannot comment. While approximately 1 Kw hits the ground why doesn't anyone plainly answer what becomes of it?Gold MemberHi Greg, according to the green banner, we can receive a Gold Membership by sharing PF on our Facebook's. Once it has been shared, who should we speak with about obtaining the Gold membership?
Thank you,

Greg BernhardtThanks @Chandller! You are now gold!
ChandllerThank you, Sir!
Hi Greg. Is Quantum Interpretations and Foundations available now?
Thanks,
MarkAHello, what is noun of Energy which explained like E^2 = P^2.c^2 + m^2.c^4 ??? ( Joule, km/h etc.)
IbixYou've posted this question on Greg's profile, which won't be read by many people and where replies are limited in length. Technical questions should be asked in the technical forums - in this case probably Classical Physics. Go there and click "Post thread".
I'm not aware of the word "noun" used in the context you are using it. Do you mean "unit"? If so, you may find it faster and easier to google "unit of energy".SSajjadBinSamadDear @Ibix , don't know why but you sound like a robot.
Ibix@SajjadBinSamad - you must be reading on a bad connection. Try moving closer to your router.SSo how do I show people that gravity attracts in straight lines? By first getting it published in a scientific journal? That sounds like a dog chasing its tail. I had the same problem with an assistant philosophy professor who dismissed my argument regarding Descartes' "pilot on a ship" reference, where I showed that the Head of philosophy was 180 degrees wrong in his study guide. Fortunately the Head agreed with me.Nneeraj guotaactually how can any thing pull unless you grip that means gravitaional force is pulling is wrong so first of all we should see everything by common sene which is never given by booksNneeraj guotait is very important to note that it is one thing which is throwing every thing to earth .and in complete universal bodiesNneeraj guotawe should name it as shiv tatva. all qualities of shiv tatva matches shiv . you may feel it religeous but it is scientific.
it is not required to know any science to understand that since even lay man will agree me if explained properlyHi,
when I create the thread "Bohmian mechanics for instrumentalists and quantum measurement" i get in return an error message : Ooops : we can run into some problems. however it seems that thread has been created several times. He's the last one the right one.
Thank
Patrick
microsansfilI see 6 threads created. Shouldn't we destroy them first?
Greg BernhardtI removed the copies, should be good now
microsansfilCould you remove this one also : https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/bohmian-mechanics-for-instrumentalists.976697/ ?
Thank PatrickAdminJust adopted two dogs!
Greg BernhardtGreat work! The more I am advancing in my studies, the more I am realising PF's worth. Thanks for creating and maintaining the site.

Greg BernhardtHe already got an alert from my tag, not a biggie, I make mistakes all the time :D
SammySWho doesn't ?Science AdvisorYes, I would actually like to write an insight article, but I'm working so much nowadays that I get very little time to do that. By the same reason, I have very little time to post in general here, despite that I was made Science Advisor. I'm really sorry for that.
Greg BernhardtErland, there are no obligations, we love seeing you here for whatever time you do spare :)Homework HelperHi Greg, could try to write an insight, for some time now I was thinking an insight about the fundamental theorem of calculus. But you got to tell me how exactly to write it, what latex editor or other tools should I install.

ChaserNZHi Greg, you may remember me as the pain in the ass who was searching out electromagnetism for the purpose of stopping large objects. For the life of me I cannot find that forum. Seems you would know how to do that. I was hoping to resurrect the forum with more questions and ideas.Ssujana tsujihi sir i just joint pf and i shared that on my G+

Greg the first two links are 404.. last one is fine. AlexHi Greg,
Aww shucks, I looked around and cannot find what a crossed out, a line strike through, across a user's name indicates. I think it means a peep that is no longer active for whatever reason?
Also I am getting old I guess....I could not find the PM function but I will! ;)
Thanks in advance. Sully, aka ES.

7I love you Greg :)Gold Memberhttps://www.physicsforums.com/threads/just-starting-with-friction-question.785729/
I have no idea why, but this thread is buggy. I'm assuming it added a bunch of subscripts to OP's post, as it did it to mine when I tried to fix his. I then tried to copy text (not subscripted text) and it nested subtext in my pasting. Quite frustrating, not necessarily pressing.
Greg BernhardtI'll look into it shortlyThe automated bump posts show in your name, but from the top level it's not obvious that it's such a post, as opposed to an answer to the OP. Could it be arranged that the auto-bump appears as by "autobump"?
Greg BernhardtThat would be nice, but I'm afraid that is not possible at this time :(
BvUSomething needs to be done here. The thread also disappears from the unanswered list, which I've become addicted to lately.
haruspexI assume threads also fall off the unanswered list when the only responses are from the OP. Sometimes these are "never mind, I got it", but often they are additional info or a manual bump.
(It would be helpful if the OP were able to tag a thread as done in a way that is visible at the list level.)Gold MemberGreg, the links in the Table of Contents in ZapperZ's "So you want to be a physicist" thread are not working, at-least not for me.

berkeman@lookingtosee -- which part of my reply in your locked thread did you not understand? You agreed to the rules when you joined here, so you need to abide by them please. This is a great place to learn about real science, in part because we don't allow attempts to discuss pseudoscience. Best wishes.

I'm not sure that I'm actually back, but I figured that the site is worth a 20-year subscription for the sake of its still-awesome educational value. Whether or not I participate will be determined by whether or not the political climate here (all USA—all the time) has changed since I left. Greg Bernhardtalways a team effort :)SskinwantsThis started as a special on their menu a fews years back and has made it to the top of the pile.
