AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the request for specific data regarding the ionization cross-section and Debye length for xenon in ion-rich plasma, particularly in the context of Hall Effect thrusters (HET) and Ion Beam Thrusters (IBT). The original poster has struggled to find this information despite extensive searching and studying relevant theses. Additionally, they seek precise formulas for electron free paths in xenon plasma under typical density and pressure conditions. Respondents suggest that providing the motivation behind the request might yield more assistance and mention that understanding the context could lead to alternative methods. Overall, the thread highlights a need for detailed plasma physics data related to xenon.

Greetings !

This is not really a discussion thread, I just
wan'na ask a question and hope someone could
finally help me with this because I couldn't
find this info during the several months I
occassionaly tried to search for it (even
briefly studied a Hall Effect thruster thesis).

I need the ionisation cross-section and the Debye
lenght (for ion rich plasma) of Xenon. Also, precise
formulas of electron free paths in Xenon plasma
at the density and pressure of a typical HET or IBT
would be helpfull if you got'em (I have some formulas,
but without the above data they're not of much use and
they're pretty complex for me right now.)

Thanks a lot.

Live long and prosper.

You'll probably get more help if you explain what the motivation is (and if it looks worthwhile) :) Maybe there are alternative methods, but who would know without an objective? Sorry I don't know what a HET or IBT is.

Thread 'Turbocharging carbureted petrol 2 stroke engines'
Hi everyone, online I ve seen some images about 2 stroke carbureted turbo (motorcycle derivation engine). Now.. In the past in this forum some members spoke about turbocharging 2 stroke but not in sufficient detail. The intake and the exhaust are open at the same time and there are no valves like a 4 stroke. But if you search online you can find carbureted 2stroke turbo sled or the Am6 turbo. The question is: Is really possible turbocharge a 2 stroke carburated(NOT EFI)petrol engine and...
I need some assistance with calculating hp requirements for moving a load. - The 4000lb load is resting on ball bearing rails so friction is effectively zero and will be covered by my added power contingencies. Load: 4000lbs Distance to travel: 10 meters. Time to Travel: 7.5 seconds Need to accelerate the load from a stop to a nominal speed then decelerate coming to a stop. My power delivery method will be a gearmotor driving a gear rack. - I suspect the pinion gear to be about 3-4in in...
