AI Thread Summary
To calculate the resonance of a cavity measuring 12.5 cm by 3.9 cm filled with air and with one open end, the dimensions and boundary conditions must be considered. The open end allows for a specific resonance frequency based on the length of the cavity and the speed of sound in air. The sidewalls being non-rigid may affect the resonance characteristics, potentially leading to variations in frequency. Participants in the discussion encourage sharing attempted calculations or specific challenges to provide targeted assistance. Understanding these factors is essential for accurate resonance calculation in this scenario.

In a cavity 12.5 cm by 3.9 cm, with Y being 12.5 cm and X/Z being 3.9, how would you calculate the resonance for that internal volume. The volume is filled with air and the sidewalls are not rigid. This is also assuming that one end is open.

I can, of course, give more information if it's needed...

Hi echoaa23! Welcome to PF!

(which end is open?)

Show us what you've tried, and where you're stuck, and then we'll know how to help you!

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
