Charged particle focusing device

AI Thread Summary
A device that can attract and focus alpha or beta particles exists, functioning similarly to a magnetic lens. These particles can be directed towards a small volume using appropriate positive or negative charges. However, achieving precise focusing to a single point is challenging. The discussion references the concept of a magnetic lens as a potential solution. The inquiry highlights interest in the practical applications of such technology.

Hi,

Is there a device that can attract alpha or beta particles and focus them on a point.

Something like the reverse of a CRT tube for electrons.

They can be attracted by negative or positive charges, respectively. Not to a single point, but to a small volume, if the conditions are right.
Why do you want to do that?
