Analaysis Forces on Free Body Diagram

AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around the analysis of free body diagrams (FBD) for two blocks, m1 and m2, where m2 is placed on top of m1. The user seeks validation of their FBD drawings and clarity on whether both blocks experience the same acceleration, given that there is no friction under m1 but friction between m1 and m2. The user expresses uncertainty about their analysis and invites corrections from others. The key question remains focused on the acceleration relationship between the two blocks. Overall, the thread highlights the importance of accurate FBDs in understanding motion dynamics.

So, I have created some blocks, and draw the FBD myself, am not sure if I did it right or not, so I'm going to upload these FBD here, and hope you guys can correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks a lot.
A block of m1 and m2, m2 is siting on top of m1. Assume there is no friction on the ground under m1, and there's friction between m1 and m2. Here are the FBD

and this is the last one.
Do these two m1 and m2 have the same acceleration ? I think they do, but I'm not so sure...

Thanks

Thread 'Collision of a bullet on a rod-string system: query'
In this question, I have a question. I am NOT trying to solve it, but it is just a conceptual question. Consider the point on the rod, which connects the string and the rod. My question: just before and after the collision, is ANGULAR momentum CONSERVED about this point? Lets call the point which connects the string and rod as P. Why am I asking this? : it is clear from the scenario that the point of concern, which connects the string and the rod, moves in a circular path due to the string...
