Analytical thought processes

Is it possible to develop your analytical skills? I have read before that you can increase your analytical ability by solving puzzles(soduku) but I do not know if there is any research that proves that one can actually increase their analytical reasoning.

I was actually thinking about buying this book: https://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Aha-...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235949259&sr=8-1

What is your opinion? Can one improve analytical thought? And if so, what are some recommended ways?

Yes, it is possible. Reading philosophy or mathematics instead of fiction is a viable path.

    Interesting. Any recommendations?
