Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around determining the angle of elevation of the King's Chamber in the Great Pyramid of Giza, specifically in relation to the pyramid's base and its center. Participants explore different ways to frame the question and consider the implications of various measurement units used in ancient Egyptian architecture.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Conceptual clarification
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant, Dave, asks for the angle of elevation from the center of the pyramid base to the King's Chamber, suggesting different ways to measure this angle.
  • Another participant shares links to resources that may provide insights into the engineering of the Great Pyramid, although the relevance of these resources to the specific question is not clear.
  • Several participants express confusion regarding the ancient units of measurement mentioned in the links, particularly the relationships between royal cubits, palms, and fingers, questioning the implications for understanding the dimensions of the pyramid.
  • One participant humorously questions the size of the Pharaoh based on the confusing measurement units, indicating a struggle to grasp the historical context.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not reach a consensus on the angle of elevation or the measurement units, with multiple competing views and expressions of confusion remaining evident throughout the discussion.

Contextual Notes

The discussion highlights limitations in understanding due to the complexity of ancient measurement systems and the lack of clear definitions or conversions to modern units.

I have posted this question in other forums and received nothing for an answer, So it's worth a shot here :-)
What is the angle elevation of the king's chamber in reference to the base of the X,Y,Z center of the pyramid?
Or should I ask the question this way?
Measuring from the center of the pyramid base to the outer wall, and from the outer wall to the Kings chamber
what would the angle be?

Thanks for your time
Dave

I tried looking at the links and the unit of measurement ... was enough to make my head spin.
The forearm of a Pharaoh = 1Rc, are they saying 7 palms make 1 RC also are they claiming
it takes 4 fingers to make a palm. So I should ask " HOW BIG A BOY IS THIS PHARAOH "

Maybe this article will help relate royal cubits to more modern measurements:
