In summary, Autocad is a popular CAD software used for creating 2D and 3D designs. If you are looking for a more affordable option or prefer a different interface or feature set, you may need an alternative. Some top alternatives to Autocad include SketchUp, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD LT, each with their own unique features and pricing options. There are also free alternatives available, such as DraftSight, LibreCAD, and FreeCAD, although they may have limited features. Most alternatives have the ability to import and export files in various formats, but it's important to double-check compatibility. When choosing the best alternative for your needs, consider your budget, the complexity of your design projects, and specific features

Hi!
(I hope I am posting in the right forum.)
I want to learn mechanical drawing using AUTOCAD. But I can't purchase the software.
Can someone , please, please suggest an open source / free alternative ? I know I will use AUTOCAD in college , I want some practice in drawing and an idea about the software.
Thank you.
