Medical Can the Human Body Handle Long-Term Space Travel?

AI Thread Summary
Prolonged exposure to weightlessness in space significantly impacts human health, leading to various complications. Key issues include muscle atrophy, decreased bone density, and fluid redistribution in the body. Additionally, astronauts experience changes in balance, cardiovascular function, and an increased risk of motion sickness. The immune system may also be compromised, and psychological effects can arise from extended periods in a confined environment. Addressing these challenges is crucial for long-term space missions and maintaining proper body functions in microgravity conditions.
