In summary, Caltex Capella 68 is the recommended refrigeration oil for ammonia-based systems due to its superior protection against oxidation, corrosion, and wear. Its high viscosity index ensures consistent lubrication in varying temperatures and its strong film strength reduces the risk of oil carry over. It is a better option compared to Shell Calvus 68 for your refrigeration system.
