Can a Custom Radial Fan Lift a Human-Transporting VTOL Drone?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the feasibility of using custom radial fans to lift a 150-200 kg human-transporting VTOL drone. The original poster seeks advice on achieving sufficient thrust for this design. However, due to the potential safety and liability concerns associated with human transport, forum members are unable to provide assistance. The thread ultimately concludes with a closure due to these liability issues. The focus remains on the challenges of using non-traditional propulsion methods for human-carrying drones.

due to a design issue I'm trying to figur out whether i can get enough thrust to lift a 150-200 kg
using some costume made radial fan instead of the usual propellers for a little vtol drone I'm willing to produce.
any comment will be much appreciate.
Thanks.

I was afraid of that. For liability reasons, we won't be able to help you with this project. Thread is closed.

Due to the constant never ending supply of "cool stuff" happening in Aerospace these days I'm creating this thread to consolidate posts every time something new comes along. Please feel free to add random information if its relevant. So to start things off here is the SpaceX Dragon launch coming up shortly, I'll be following up afterwards to see how it all goes. https://blogs.nasa.gov/spacex/
